Day 3 - Reflection "Text Selection"

My takeaways from todays session could be summarised in pictures below: 

1. Exploring Journal Surf for Books at correct levels with audio/pdf copies for students. This makes it easier when finding books at different levels with different areas of reading. A great tool for finding books.

2. Another way of looking at what I can do on a weekly basis with my reading program. A great STOCK TAKE of reading program. Some things that I can add on to my reading program are Read to and Long texts (novels/chapter books).

3. Finally looking at one place to see what my groups have done. Making sure I strike a balance in all areas of reading.
Another great day spent looking at various reading that I can implement in my program. Lots to take in but I am glad I chose the three I will work on for the next few weeks.

    Hi Ronil,
    It's great that you've been able to have a bit of a stocktake and think about coverage for your ākonga. Our kids love being read to even when they are older and it's a great way to support them to access texts beyond their independent level. I'm interested to know how you found the kids responded to reading some longer texts, hopefully it's opened up more opportunities for extended discussions.
